Jakarta. During the BMW Exhibition held at Plaza Senayan from 1-3 November 2019, BMW Group Indonesia is launching THE NEW X1 - the leader in the premium compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment. The new model update is being launched in just one variant - The new BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine - which makes it even more desirable. Key to its increased appeal are pronounced design revisions, a high level of versatility and a host of cutting-edge equipment features, giving the car a  bolder, sportier and more visually striking presence. The ongoing assembly of  THE NEW X1 at BMW Production Network 2, Gaya Motor, Sunter, Jakarta shows BMW’s commitment to Indonesia, while providing strategic price positioning and better delivery times for BMW customers in the market.

It’s also intended for small families, and parents who like to drive into the mountains or to a lake over the weekend. Compact exterior dimensions and functionality are the most important factors for these target groups.

 

The design: eye-catching and sporty.

 

Clear visible changes on its exterior underscore the vehicle’s profile as an authentic, powerful and dynamic Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). THE NEW X1 exudes a more dominant, imposing aura at the front end, in particular. Here, a larger BMW grille – the kidneys now merging in the centre – links up with new LED headlights design, including sharper light iconography, and a bumper with integrated LED fog lamps and larger air intakes. Another highlight in the front part of the car can be found on the driver’s side exterior mirror which projects a two-tone LED “X1” image when the car is unlocked. This is far from just a visual trick; it also makes getting into and out of the BMW X1 that much easier.

 

The rear end of THE NEW X1 also houses new stylistic features. For example, the new inlay in the body-colour rear apron adopts  the car’s main body colour.The LED rear lights of the BMW X1 have a new design, a single LED bar drawing the familiar L signature from side to side. The horizontal design of the LED rear lights also underscores the width of the rear end and the muscular stance of the BMW X1 on the road. Meanwhile, a new wheel design for The new BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine is available as standard in 18” inch Y-spoke style 579 bicolour Orbit Grey with 225/50/18 run-flat tyres, creating a stronger and more exclusive presence.

 

Bolder features, enhanced interior and greater versatility.

 

THE NEW X1 maintains its elevated status in the BMW X model family. This is clearly apparent in both its new exterior appearance and interior design.The versatility and cleverness of its interior are noticeably enhanced. Indeed, THE NEW X1 cabin blends cutting-edge technology with generous levels of space and numerous smart and functional solutions.These provide a helping hand for the driver, raise comfort levels yet another notch, and ensure THE NEW X1 is every bit as flexible as its occupants need it to be.

 

One of the highlights of THE NEW X1’s interior is the Control Display. This features an enhanced navigation system, a new larger 8,8-inch Touch Control Display which can be operated using the BMW .

 

iDrive Controller, as well as voice control or touchscreen technology – all as part of the package.The Control Display represents the ideal platform for exploring the BMW X1’s richly varied infotainment offerings, including Apple CarPlay with wireless connection capability. 

 

The new BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine also boasts new upholstery. Featuring higher quality than ever before, new Sensatec upholstery with Aluminium interior and pearl chrome trim finishers are available as standard. The remarkable versatility of the THE NEW X1 is not confined to all things digital; its interior can also  be adapted to individual requirements. For example,the rear seats can be folded down flat in three sections (40:20:40) and, as an option, slide forward by up to 13 cm. Options such as automatic tailgate operation and Comfort Access – which team up to enable hands-free tailgate opening and closing – raise convenience levels another notch in accessing the 505 to 1550 litre boot.

 

The driving experience: optimum balance for efficiency.

 

The new BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine is equipped with an efficient yet sporty powertrain, which translates into dynamic performance on the road and supreme driving pleasure over rough terrain via a cutting-edge front-wheel-drive configuration.The model is powered by a BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol unit that delivers maximum power of 140 hp at 4400 rpm and maximum torque of up to 220Nm at 1,250 rpm.  Power is delivered to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, thereby allowing smooth transitions and efficient fuel consumption. It sprints comfortably from 0-100km/h in 9.7 seconds and has an average fuel consumption of 15.9 km/l and average CO2 emissions of 144 g/km [WLTP cycle].

 

The suspension technology built into THE NEW X1 provides the fleet-footed agility familiar to existing BMW X1 drivers, delivers precisely controllable handling, and imbues the car with sublime overall dynamics. Together with the car’s low centre of gravity, almost even weight distribution, wide track, short overhangs and high level of body and chassis rigidity,the suspension lays the foundations for a familiar BMW driving experience –one no other vehicle in the segment can match. Moreover, The new BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine is also equipped with Adaptive Suspension to increase comfort as well as driving dynamics that is enhanced with M Sports steering, more direct and linear steering ratio for lower steering angle requirements.

 

“THE NEW X1 is characterized by a considerably higher level of presence and value. With its typical driving experience which is unique in this segment, BMW is optimistic that the BMW X1 will remain the segment leader and perpetuate the success story of BMW X models in Indonesia,” added Jodie. 

 

Availability and Price. 

 

The new BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine will be available at BMW Authorized Dealers from November 2019 at a price of Rp.739.000.000 off-the-road. The vehicle comes with BMW Service Inclusive, which includes free-of-charge regular maintenance for 5 years or 60,000 km, whichever comes first, as well as a 36-month warranty without mileage limitations. THE NEW X1 is also covered by BMW Group Tire Coverage for 3 years which includes replacements of up to 4 tires during the period, with 100% of the tire and labor costs covered. Included in the coverage is damage caused by punctures, bulging, as well as shredded, burst or torn tires, and damage from the vehicle continuing to run on flat tires. The tires will be replaced with original versions - terms and conditions apply.
