DISCOVER THE BMW iX RANGES.
Why do the ranges vary?
The respective range of an electric vehicle depends on various factors such as driving style, route conditions, vehicle equipment, weather conditions and payload.
In detail
High average speeds (highway) reduce the range most significantly, while inner-city traffic leads to a higher range due to lower speed and higher recuperation shares (in contrast to vehicles with internal combustion engines). Furthermore, the range is reduced at low temperatures due to heating, and high temperatures with strong air conditioning. Regarding the special features/equipment, the selection of larger tire combinations generally reduces the range (if the aerodynamic disadvantage is not compensated for by a more closed wheel design). The rolling resistance class of tires is also relevant for the range: e.g. the use of a winter tire reduces the range compared to a Label A summer tire.
General range specification and range values in this indicator
In the model selection, the communicated range is based on the WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light-Duty Test Procedure) cycle.
WLTP enables a calculation of the range under prescribed driving conditions. WLTP assumes a defensive driving style with a route mix of city streets, country roads and highways.
The range indicator enables you to estimate the range under your typical driving conditions. The outer circle represents the calculated range value based on linear distances (not the actual street map), while the inner circle shows the calculated value -30% to take the real-life routes into account. What are the assumptions underlying the driving style settings?
Setting a "sporty" driving style assumes 100% highway driving with an average speed of approximately 130 km/h and a dynamic overtaking style. The "economical" setting assumes defensive driving on country roads with an average speed of around 80 km/h. Settings in between produce a mixture of both.
UP TO 420 KM RANGE WITH THE BMW iX.
With a range up to 420 km the BMW iX xDrive40 is ideal for both city driving and long distances. Thanks to its highly efficient construction, it has an extremely low energy consumption of not more than 23.1 kW/h and outstanding aerodynamics with an exceptional cd of 0.25 – a value unrivalled in this vehicle segment. Driving the BMW iX in My Mode Efficient further increases this impressive efficiency.
THE BMW iX WITH 326 HP.
With two powerful electric motors and BMW xDrive electric all-wheel drive, the BMW iX offers outstanding electric performance: an output of 326 hp* propels the BMW iX xDrive40 from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The instantly available torque and stepless acceleration from a standing start allow the BMW iX to respond precisely and spontaneously to every movement of the accelerator pedal and deliver a smooth driving experience.

The calculation takes into account consumption and charging performance. Values refer to 29-33 degrees Celsius battery start and ambient temperature with certification values excluding additional auxiliary consumers such as seat heating, displays, air conditioning. Individual consumption may vary (depending on e.g. driving profile, temperature, ambient conditions) as well as the individually achievable charging performance (depending on e.g. battery state of charge, vehicle air conditioning). Consumption is based on WLTP best case. Charging performance is based on the maximum possible charging performance (depending on charging type and vehicle).

BMW iX SHY TECH CONCEPT.
The Shy Tech concept focuses on the passengers and allows the modern technology in the BMW iX to blend into the background until needed or explicitly desired. This invisible intelligence can be experienced in many details of the exterior and interior – such as the kidney grille, which functions as an intelligent surface and houses camera technology, radar functions, state-of-the-art sensor technology and heating elements. Other examples include the invisibly embedded speakers of the audio system and the minimalist button design for the interior.

HOLISTIC SUSTAINABILITY IN THE BMW iX.
When compared to an SAV with a comparably powerful combustion engine, the BMW iX emits 45% fewer greenhouse gas emissions over its entire life cycle thanks to the comprehensive sustainability concept. The reason lies in the use ofelectricity from exclusively renewable energies during production as well as the use of natural and recycled materials – such as the floor mats produced 100% from Econyl.

BMW iX xDrive40 Sport:
Energy consumption in km/kWh (combined): 4.08
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 0
CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 0
The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model.
The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification.
For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points
The basis for the calculation of the charging times for 100 km range is the electric consumption. Values refer to 23 degrees Celsius battery start and ambient temperature with certification values excluding additional auxiliary consumers such as seat heating, displays, air conditioning. Individual consumption may differ (driving profile, temperature, ambient conditions). Consumption is based on WLTP best case.
